The new Alpinestars Afrika Gore-Tex XCR boot is designed for those who want a shoe that'll work off the bike as well as while you're riding.
There's a synthetic suede upper with inserts that the firm claims are highly abrasion-resistant. There's a waterproof/breathable Gore-Tex membrane insert, too, making these suitable for most conditions.
They're not totally without protection, either, featuring dual density ankle cups with foam padding, an inner heel counter and toe-box reinforcements.
The tongue is padded and there's a reflective heel insert for added visibility. They're available in black or 'tarmac', in sizes 5-13 (Euro sizes 38-48), and cost £139.95.
