Crossbow boss gets original gift

Crossbow Calendar boss John Winthrope received a surprise gift recently – a rare, collectable copy of the original 1987 calendar.

Crossbow has become famous for its ‘bikes and babes’ calendars and has an archive of nearly 20 years – but boss John lacked a copy of the original 1987 one, which starred a young Samantha Fox as the June babe. Originals now fetch up to £100 and have become collectors items.

Winthrope said: “He said ‘I know you haven’t got one of the originals so I’ve brought it to you as a present. I’ve had so much pleasure from your calendars over the years that I thought you should have it.’
