Loris Capirossi determined to race in 2011

Loris Capirossi is determined that his record-breaking 2010 MotoGP campaign won’t be his last.

The veteran Italian will create history in Qatar this weekend when he becomes the first rider in history to record 300 world championship appearances.

And the factory Suzuki rider, who is preparing for his 21st Grand Prix campaign, said he intends to continue racing into 2011 and beyond.

Capirossi, who has just turned 37, told MCN: “”I feel really good because since the beginning of December I’ve been training really hard.

“I never stop to keep the best condition I can and I think maybe this is not going to be my last season and I think I can continue.

“I still enjoy riding the bike and I’m quick like the top guys and when it is like that I can race for one or two years.

“I don’t worry about my age even though I’m 37. If I were 37 and not fast enough then I would be thinking about stopping.

“My target is to ride a 1000cc bike in 2012. I know that will not be easy but the target is that.”
