Alvaro Bautista fit for Le Mans

Alvaro Bautista will be fit to ride his factory Suzuki GSV-R in Le Mans next weekend.

The Spaniard had looked a major doubt for round three of the MotoGP world championship when he broke his collarbone during a motocross training accident.

But the 25-year-old underwent successful surgery today (Friday) and surgeons are confident he will have no problem in participating in the French MotoGP clash.

When MCN broke news of Bautista’s crash earlier, the initial prognosis didn’t look favourable and Suzuki sources feared he’d miss at least the Le Mans race on May 23.

But following a one-hour operation to repair a simple break to the clavicle bone, Suzuki have been informed that Bautista should be able ride in France, albeit with some pain and restricted movement.

Bautista bounced back from a crash-strewn MotoGP debut in Qatar last month to finish in a promising tenth place at the last round in Jerez.
