Casey Stoner ended the second day on top

 

MotoGP world champion Casey Stoner took to the Sepang circuit for the first time today after a back problem forced him to sit out yesterday's session, and immediately inserted his dominance by setting the fastest time of the test.

The Aussie posted a best time of 2:00.895 over a 23 lap run, 0.762secs faster than yesterday's fastest time set by Jorge Lorenzo. Lorenzo was faster than the previous day, but it was only good enough for third fastest, behind team-mate Ben Spies in second place.

Brit Cal Crutchlow continued his impressive form, setting the fifth fastest time of 2:01.565, 0.656secs quicker than yesterday. Crutchlow's new team-mate Andrea Dovizioso set the ninth fastest time behind San Carlo Honda rider Alvaro Bautista.

Aspar Ducati rider Hector Barbera finished the day as the fastest Ducati in sixth place, ahead of Valentino Rossi in seventh.

Moto2 world champion Stefan Bradl finished in 11th place onboard his new LCR Honda despite crashing during the session.

Colin Edwards again finished top of the CRT bikes, with a time of 2:05.603, ahead of Ivan Silva, Jordi Torres, and Robertino Pietri.
