Aragon MotoGP: Pedrosa eases to victory

1 of 1

Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa dominated today’s MotoGP race at Aragon to win from Jorge Lorenzo by over six seconds.

Lorenzo took the lead from the start, with Pedrosa close behind. Pedrosa passed Lorenzo after a handful of laps before easing in to the distance. Lorenzo tried to keep pace with Pedrosa but suffered a rear end slide and was unable to keep pace with his compatriot.

Andrea Dovizioso finished third, just one tenth of a second ahead of team-mate Cal Crutchlow after a hard battle between the pair and Ben Spies.

MotoGP rookie Stefan Bradl moved in to third position on lap three, ahead of Ben Spies, but crashed out of the race after a front end slide.

Valentino Rossi finished 44 seconds adrift of Pedrosa in eighth place after running off track on the first lap and again towards the end of the race.

Team-mate Nicky Hayden ran off track before colliding with a safety barrier. He was taken to the medical centre where he was declared ok, but was given a neck brace. The American will undergo more checks to rule out internal injuries.

Stand in rider Jonathan Rea finished 32 seconds behind Pedrosa in seventh.
