British rider Danny Webb ended a rain-hit opening day of Moto3 testing at the Jerez circuit in Spain with the fastest time on board the Ambrogio Racing Suter-Honda machine.

The Kent rider posted a best time of 1.56.924 to finish 0.427s clear of South African teammate Brad Binder.

Aussie Jack Miller rounded out the top three with a best time of 1.57.373 and the FTR-Honda rider was the only other rider to lap inside of a half-a-second of Webb.

John McPhee, who impressed during the opening three-day test of 2013 in Valencia last week to finish ninth, was back inside the top 10 again today.

The British teenager set a best time of 1.58.655 to finish 10th on his FTR-Honda machine.

Red-hot title favourite Maverick Vinales, who dominated last week’s Valencia test, was seventh fastest on the timesheets with a best lap of 1.57.994 on his official KTM machine.
