A second day of Moto3 testing at the Jerez circuit in Spain was dominated by wet conditions, but British rider John McPhee excelled on a tricky surface to set the second best time.

The Caretta Technology-RTG rider, who will campaign an FTR-Honda in 2013, set a personal best lap of 1.57.801 to finish just 0.174s behind Aussie teammate Jack Miller.

Only 20 riders opted to take to the track in tricky conditions on day two of the final pre-season test and Luis Salom, Alex Rins, Arthur Sissis and Jakub Kornfeil rounded out the top six.

Kent rider Danny Webb finished 10th quickest with a best time of 1.59.419 after he suffered a crash earlier in the day. He was uninjured in the spill and will be fit to take part in the final action of the pre-season tomorrow.
