The three man Ten Kate Honda team of Jonathan Rea, Carlos Checa and Ryuichi Kiyonari have concluded a successful test at Magny Cours in France. The team were forced to ride in wet conditions on Monday with Carlos Checa making the most of the difficult conditions to establish a new and improved base setting for the wet.

Jonathan Rea crashed out at the beginning of the day and elected to sit out the remainder of the test

Due to the wet conditions the team stayed in France for another day and benefited from a half day of dry track time this morning where Rea was in impressive form lapping on track record pace.

He said:

“I think we all went out on track against our will this morning because it was still wet in places, but between us we managed to get the track dried out. From 10am it was good so that meant we had three full hours of track time.

“The feeling for me was really good and I was on lap record pace using a tyre that wasn’t particularly well suited to the track. I managed to do a 1m39.8 and was able to set pretty consistent 1m40.0s laps”

The team now head to Misano for the eighth round of the World Superbike Championship this weekend.
