Fabrizio goes fastest in rain soaked warm up

Honda’s Michel Fabrizio was surprisingly the fastest rider on track in this morning’s warm up at Silverstone.

The riders struggled with heavy rain throughout the session but fortunately there were not too many casualties.

Fabrizio recorded a best time of 1:39.625 ahead of Australian Troy Corser (1:40.170) and pole man Troy Bayliss on a 1:40.264.

Britain’s James Toseland, who will be looking for a victory at his home round, was in fourth place after recording a best time of 1:41.226.

Second British rider, Dean Ellison, was slowest with a 1:54.550 on his Ducati 999RS.

The riders were a good 13 seconds down on their times from superpole as they attempted to avoid standing water on the track.
