British Supersport: Billy McConnell signs for Raceways Yamaha

Billy McConnell will make a step down back into the British Supersport Championship in 2009 with Raceways Yamaha after a season in BSB with MSS Discovery Kawasaki.

The Aussie finished the season in 12th position with 91 championship points with his best finishing position of the season being a 10th.

McConnell has a good history on Supersport machinery.

In 2005 he won the Virgin Yamaha R6 Cup, and after a season with Rob McElnea in BSB in 2006 he re-signed for the former Grand Prix rider turned team boss for his BSS squad in 2007.

McConnell finished fourth in the championship in 2007 with two wins.
