Scott Nicholls diary: Hectic travelling between Eastbourne and Poland

After a couple of days off, it was back into the normal hectic schedule of the season.

I was in Poland on Friday for a re-arranged fixture. It was a bit of a disaster as my Polish motorbike problems continued, we just can’t seem to get the set-up right there at the moment. It was a huge disappointment as I really thought that we’d made progress.

I flew back on Saturday to ride for Eastbourne.  Unfortunately when I woke up I’d picked up a bug which was very unpleasant. Sick at both ends, but you have to carry on.

I rode ok and scored 11 points from four rides. I didn’t take my last ride as we’d won the meeting by then, and I was feeling terrible. Then it was straight to the airport, which was a traffic nightmare with road works on the M25.

So Sunday was back to Poland, and we got an away win. It was much happier with the bike and set up and I scored nine points, so maybe we are getting somewhere after all. I’ve booked in a test session in Poland next week so hopefully we can get it sorted once and for all.

Monday was back for Eastbourne against Belle Vue in Manchester. Lukasz Jankowski unfortunately had a big crash so the meeting was held up. You want him to be OK and to get the best care, you know it can happen to any of us, but you are also conscious that you need to get back to the airport, which eventually took me until 3am.

I raced in Sweden on Tuesday, unfortunately the team lost away, which was a disappointment, but individually I was happy with my form as I managed to score 13 points.

Yesterday (Wednesday) was a day off, so me and Sophie managed to get away from it all for a few hours.

Right now I’m packing my bags to race in Swindon tonight, and then it’s straight onto Copenhagen for the Danish Grand Prix. It will be a fantastic atmosphere over there, it’s in the national stadium and it should be a sell out.

I’ve gone well there in the past and it’s a track I enjoy. It is one of the best ‘one-off’ tracks and always seems to hold-up well. It’s great, when you look up, every seat is full, which is just brilliant.

I feel my form is good right now so I am looking forward to getting back into the points. It would be great to be in the shake up by the time we get to the British Grand Prix at the Millennium Stadium later this month.
