Scott Nicholls diary: Slovenian Speedway GP

1 of 1

MCN has joined up with British Speedway GP rider Scott Nicholls who will write a  diary telling of his antics and races from the past week.

Here is his first account following the Slovenian Speedway GP.

Well after all of the build up, the first Grand Prix was a bit of a let down from my perspective, not the best GP that I’ve had. It was all down to lane draw, and I started with three, four and then three again. And nothing won on the outside all night.

Lee (Adams) had a similar set of draws to me and I think he finished with just five points, which shows just how hard it was.

I flew back from Slovenia on Sunday and rode for Eastbourne at Swindon in the evening. It wasn’t a great night for the team but I was quite happy with my individual form.

Swindon are going great guns at the moment so it was another hard one. I have to be happy with scoring 15 points, but no one else really got going that night and we went down to a bit of a pasting. I’m sure that we’ll re pay the compliment when they visit Arlington.

The Swedish league got underway on Tuesday so I flew out there in the morning.
It was a good meeting and nice to get a win under our belts.

I’m in Poland now, after a stupidly early start this morning, we’re off to the track soon and see what conditions are like.

It is the time of the year that is starting to get really busy, you have to really take time to relax when you can as the travelling gets to you after a bit. Catch your breath where you can.

I’m back from Poland on Friday, riding for Eastbourne on Saturday, back to Poland on Sunday, Sweden on Monday and then we got to Belle Vue with Eastbourne on Wednesday. And then it all begins again.

The joys of international travel and motorsport!
