Why buy from Padgetts Motorcycles

Padgetts Motorcycles showroom

Padgetts has enjoyed unparalleled success in the world of motorcycle racing for over 50 years. The organizations involvement covers not only riders, but also high performance part manufacture, management and unparalleled involvement with manufacturers including technical advice, product development and construction. Padgetts - founded by Peter Padgett and his brother Don in 1958, approaching their 50th anniversary - is one of the most successful and established motorcycle dealerships in the UK. In conjunction with Honda Japan, the company established the first Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) shop in the world outside of Japan in 1993. Padgetts has a strong association with Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha and is a longstanding dealer of all three manufacturers. The family-run business first started selling Yamaha motorcycles in 1959, two years later it expanded with Honda and just three years after that Padgetts began a relationship with Suzuki in 1964. The company also sells Kawasaki, Aprilia and Peugeot motorcycles, a wide range of parts and accessories also providing servicing across all manufacturers. When it was built in 1974, the purpose-built motorcycle showroom was the largest in Europe. Aside from the Dealership creating a Motorcycle Village with the different Manufacturers in separate showrooms creating a large commercial presence, the name Padgetts is steeped and widely known around the world for their racing heritage. The Padgett team heritage spans three generations of British Racing Legends - from Hailwood, Ivy, and Read to Haslam, McElnea and Fogarty to present Camier and McGuinness, all have starred in the companys roll of honour. Over the years Padgett has provided spectators with more than their fair share of peak sporting moments. From simple beginnings, chasing glory on home-built machines, with little more than willpower and talent to carry them through, Padgett has now emerged as a dominant contender in the British Supersport Championship.

MCN overall review verdict: The 2010 Z1000 is the most impressive sports naked ever to roll out of Japan. It has excellent performance, handling and is super-stylish to boot. It’s less intimidating and easier to ride than a fire-breathing European super naked too. Compared to something like a KTM Super Duke or Ducati Streetfighter, the Z1000 is on the heavy side, the brakes lack bite, the engine power isn’t ‘bang’ in-your-face and the tyres are disappointing. But if you want big super naked kicks you have to spend big money. The Z1000, on the other hand, delivers a lot of bang for your buck. - Video: 2010 Kawasaki Z1000 vs Triumph Speed Triple
