Bargain learner bikes

Honda’s CBR125R is currently the second highest selling bike in the UK with only the Yamaha R1 beating it.

But – as a new rider – if you can’t stretch to a new one for £2500, what are your 125cc options on the used bike market?

A look through our Bikes for Sale section offers plenty of choice – from budget bikes to a full-on race rep.

You could pick up a 2004 CBR125 with just 3400 on the clock for £2000

or this slightly more racy 2000 Cagiva Mito for £2250 with just over 9000 miles on it.

But if you want the real thing, this 2001 Aprilia RS125 is up for £2495 and is the closest thing you’ll get to a sports bike on a learner licence.

Trail style bikes are very popular choices for learner bikes offering a very easy ride, and this 2001 Honda Varadero is a good choice. It is up for just £2000 and has only done 10,000 miles.

Custom style bikes are also very popular with this very shinny Suzuki Intruder coming in at £2045 with just over 3000 miles on the click.

or this 2001 Yamaha Dragstar which has done almost 7000 miles and is up for £1899.

A slightly cheeper option could be this supermoto style Aprilia Pegaso. It’s a 1993 bike but has done only 9000 miles and is up for just £1295.

But the really budget option is this Honda CG125. It’s a 2002 bike, has got 15,000 miles on the clock and is up for just £999.

This is just a small selection of the bikes that are available in our Bikes for Sale section. Click here to search the full listings.
