MCN Italy bikes all sell

1 of 1

Bidding ended at 5pm on Wednesday (Aug 17) on the MCN bikes featured in the Aug 10, 17 and 24 issues of the paper.

The three bikes from our ‘Italian Job’ series were up for grabs in MCN Auctions. The first sold on Tuesday night when a bidder chose the Buy Now function on the Ducati Monster 600 to secure it for the £1000 asking price.

On Wednesday a rush of bids took the Gilera Runner 180 up to £551.

Our stricken Guzzi lagged behind on £211.

Each bike was secured for under £1000 in the first place and had to be sold quickly after the end of their Italy-and-back run as part of our continuing ‘Italian Job’ story. The amount they have sold for has a direct bearing on the scores achieved by each of the riders in our Italy-and-back-on-£1K Italian-bikes challenge.

The Moto Guzzi V50 was ridden by Deputy Editor Ped Baker, a Monster Dark was the choice of Road Tester Chad Child while a Gilera Runner 180 was picked by Used Bikes Editor Angus Farquhar.
