Ducati Hypermotard custom

1 of 4

From insurance write-off to back-road scratcher, this customised Hypermotard is proof of what a little dedication and imagination can produce.

Bought for a pittance after a low-side crash deemed to costly to repair, owner Michael Vis had a new tank, sub-frame and exhaust fabricated. The big challenge was keeping the bike’s lean, edgy look while making the most of suitable parts he could get his hands on. Apparently, it took several attempts – and a burnt right leg – to perfect the flow of the exhaust while maintaining decent ground clearance.

Öhlins forks, BST carbon fibre wheels, Rizoma rearsets, Beringer master cylinders, Kellerman indicators and a Yamaha MT-03 headlight are all on display too on the reinvented Ducati.
