Back to front, upside down 2000cc triple!

No, it’s not a computer mock-up – that engine really is upside down! And it’s going in to small-scale production too. 

The Nembo Super 32 Rovescio is the brainchild of Italian designer Daniele Sabatini, who was inspired by the style of air-cooled engines but wanted the inverted cylinder design of World War II plane engines too.

“I like air-cooled motors and water-cooled ones with finned cylinders and heads. However, in the current naked sport bikes the engine is too often hidden and totally water-cooled – practically soulless. 

“It pains me to see the engine humiliated and smothered under frames and plastic components. So, I thought that a good way to get a well exposed and updated air-cooled engine in a contemporary naked sport bike was just to invert it!”
