Manufacturers commit to NEC Motorcycle Show

NEC Show organisers have confirmed this year’s International Motorcycle and Scooter Show will go ahead and many of the major manufacturers have now confirmed their attendance for the next three years.

The event, to be held at the NEC at the end of November, was in some doubt following the withdrawl of both Honda and Harley-Davidson and news that this year’s Paris Motorcycle Show had been cancelled due to the lack of support from the major manufacturers.

But now, NEC organisers have announced that Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Triumph, BMW, KTM and Husqvarna have all confirmed their presence at this year’s event and, what’s more, the three Japanese marques, plus BMW, have all pledged their commitment for the next three years.

In addition, organisers are still hopeful that Aprilia, MV Agusta and Norton will be at the Birmingham Show this year.

Finlay McAllan, Managing Director of MCI Exhibitions, said: “We are very happy to have been given this important commitment from the major manufacturers, which along with the price freeze on tickets is designed to maintain the Show’s No1 position in the UK and as a major player in the overall European show market which had already seen casualties in the shape of the cancellation of the Paris Show.”

The Carole Nash International Motorcycle & Scooter Show takes place between 26th November and 6th December 2009 at the NEC, Birmingham.
