North Wales Police in action on the road to Penderosa cafe Sat 22nd August

A group of 8 mates out on Saturday (travelled from North West UK, West Mids, South Wales) – heading up from Llangollen and at layby pulled all bikes in.

Variety of tickets issues – £60 for a small plate, £30 for a ‘modification’ to vehicle. I was given £30 for the ‘modification’ but in hindsight I had no modified the baffle, just removed it – with no noise meter there is NO PROOF that removal of the baffle meant the bike no longer met the VOSA / DVLA regulations.

If I had drilled holes in exhaust / cut it down then I could understand. I am sure you can modify a car (like putting blue flashing lights on the roof) as long as it still meets VOSA regulations. They had no noise meter, but admitted they had pulled group having ‘heard you lot coming a mile off’ (must have sounded awesome…)

If I lived in North Wales I’d be really pleased there was so little crime that 4 police offices can spend all that time on this rather than look for people dealing drugs, using red diesel, ABH, Drunk Driving, burglary etc.
