Team Agni: 'FIM and Isle of Man have f***ed everything up'

Team Agni boss Arvind Rabadia has slammed the Isle of Man government and the FIM for delivering ‘stabs in the back’ to electric racing auteur Azhar Hussain, saying it leaves the sport ‘F***ed up’.

“I hate politics” says the man whose bike took a dominant victory in the inaugural TTXGP race on the isle of man in the hands of Rob Barber.

“The Isle of man has screwed everything up for me. Everything was fine. Something has gone seriously wrong with them. They should have tried harder to make things work.”

Rabadia says his loyalties lie with TTXGP founder Azhar Hussain but his priority is garnering maximum publicity for his team – and the event which can guarantee the biggest audiences and most coverage will sign them.

“Azhar has been stabbed in the back first by the FIM and now by the Isle of Man. But I’m here to prove a business point and an envrionmental point, and my decision will rest on which side will enable me to make those points best.”

Rabadia will meet with TTXGP and Isle of Man representatives in the next few days to try and reach a decision. 

Since winning the first ‘e-TT’ last June Team Agni has become the one all the electric race organisers want to sign, and the competitors want to beat.

Rabadia says he had planned to enter two bikes in this year’s Isle of Man race, designed to win the mooted two-lap format.

Now the the island has split with TTXGP, TT organisers have opted to revert to a one-lap race – a format Rabadia says “proves nothing. It’s the distance these bikes can run that everyone is questioning.”
