Ducati Multistrada 1200 gets resounding thumbs-up from show goers

Ducati’s new Multistrada 1200 has been a hot attraction for show goers at the Carole Nash MCN Motorcycle Show at Excel which opened this morning.

The Multistrada is the bike Ducati is hoping will take a healthy slice of the adventure-bike market which BMW has cornered with the ultra-successful R1200GS.

If the responses of the customers MCN has spoken to this morning are anything to go by Ducati should be successful is taking new sales.

Just one of the many fans crowding around the bike on the Ducati stand was Alan Pearce, 53 of Plymouth. He said: “I’ve got an old BMW R100RS at the moment and I’ve ridden the GS and its too heavy for me.

“I love the package of the Multistrada; the performance, the weight and as long as its smooth enough and can get enough mileage to a tank of fuel I will buy one. A touring version, in red.”

The Multistrada is just one of FIVE new Ducatis making their UK debut at the show at London’s Excel in Docklands which runs until Sunday.

The other new bikes are the Hypermotard 1100 Evo SP, 1198 S Corse, 848 Dark and Monster 1100S ABS.
