BMW S1000RR does quarter-mile in 8 seconds

A Superstock BMW S1000RR has broken the nine-second quarter-mile barrier at the Kil-Kare Raceway in Xenia, Ohio.

The Brock’s performance S1000RR, in the hands of twice AMA Dragbike Real Street champion Jeremy Teasley, recorded a time of 8.971 seconds at 157.93mph, before bettering it with an 8.95 second run.

The bike was run in AMA Dragbike SuperSport trim, with the only changes allowed from stock being lowered suspension, modified gearing, aftermarket exhaust, a fuel-injection controller, and ceramic wheel bearings.

Brock Performance shop owner Brock Davidson said, “With the S1000RR having a better power-to-weight ratio of any production sportsbike, we felt strongly that we were going to do some damage in the SuperSport class with the BMW this season.”
