Freddie Sheene to ride 250bhp+ tribute

1 of 1

The legendary Sheene name is to take centre-stage at Goodwood this July with the astonishing new 200mph, 250+BHP Icon Sheene making its debut with the son of the great man himself on board.

Freddie Sheene will be taking part in the hill climb event on the turbo-charged, £107,000 tribute to Barry Sheene at the famous Goodwood Festival of Speed, running from the 2-4 July.

The tribute has been built in conjunction with the Sheene family and will take the crown of the world’s most powerful production motorcycle.

Barry’s wife Stephanie Sheene has enthusiastically supported the project throughout “The Icon Sheene captures everything he stood for and I take great comfort in knowing that it will be a unique tribute to an extraordinary man.”

Barry won his two 500cc World Championships aboard Suzuki’s so the use of their GSX1400 engine in the Icon holds special poignancy. Only 52 of the motorcycles are ever to be sold, representing each year that Barry lived.

The bike can be seen at www.iconsheene.com or for more information email info@iconsheene.com. Tickets for the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2010 can be purchased from www.goodwood.co.uk.
