Former MotoGP star McWilliams talks about his race at the Red Bull Indianapolis GP

Jeremy McWilliams reveals his gratitude for Harley-Davidson of Bloomington after racing for them in the AMA Pro Vance & Hines XR1200® series at Indianapolis last month.

McWilliams said: “I am privileged to have been invited to race at Indianapolis with a great team. Harley-Davidson of Bloomington put together a competitive bike and we were able to push the leading group. It would’ve been the icing on the cake had we made it onto the rostrum, but unfortunately it wasn’t to be. “

The reigning champion of the UK’s Harley-Davidson XR1200 Trophy one-make race series narrowly missed the front row of the grid in the qualifying session on 26th August.

In race one, riding a Harley-Davidson of Bloomington-Indiana machine, McWilliams along with O’Hara, Rapp, DiSalvo and Fillmore broke away from the rest of the pack after a crash on the first lap slowed the other racers.

But after the stroke of fortune, McWilliams couldn’t counter and was himself involved in a crash with Fillmore that would see him finish in 10th position after remounting. O’Hara held on for a 0.048-second win over Rapp.

In race two, the Irishman finished in an improved 5th position, narrowly losing out on 4th to Barnes on the final lap. Fillmore rebounded from Saturday’s crash with McWilliams by taking his fourth XR1200 win of the season.
