Taking the Bonneville to Bonneville in memory of MikeyMan

1 of 1

Our friend, Mike Page, tragically died in 2010 and at his funeral, a group of his close friends decided to rebuild his old Triumph Bonneville in his honour and memory.

Mike had owned the Bonneville for about 18 years and it spent many of these years in his front room, with him ever planning ways to get it back on the road!

Not only did his friends manage to rebuild the old Bonneville, they also took it to Utah and raced at the Salt Flats last August, thanks to the massive snowball effect this memorial incited – from a small acorn in his memory – to a record breaking attempt in the States!

The BBC filmed the team as they prepared for Bonneville Race Week, and the programmes were aired on 6 and 13 January respectively – on BBC2.

The show was called ‘Speed Dreams – the fastest place on Earth’ and both episodes are available to view on YouTube.

Since the airing of the shows, our team has gained even more support and discussion forums have been talking about how touching it is to see what Team Page has done.

Team Page are planning to take the Bonneville back to the States in 2014 and have other great things planned in the meantime to help raise funds for this touching project.
