Sheene MCN Man of the Year trophies sell at Stafford

The MCN ‘Man of the Year’ trophies from 1976 and 1977 awarded to the late, great Barry Sheene were among the star auction lots sold at the weekend.

The two awards were offered as a lot with a number of other special trophies awarded to the great man and sold for £750.

Other Sheene items at the event, Bonham’s Autumn Sale at the Stafford Classic Show, included other trophies, riding kit and bike parts, including this seat unit from 1977 which fetched £875.

Among the bikes at the huge, season-ending sale were an ex-MCN ‘Spot-the-ball’ prize Dresda Honda CB750 which went for £7360.
