Ducati Desmosedici sells out

1 of 1

If you want a Ducati Desmosedici and haven’t placed your order yet, you better start scouring the classifieds as the firm has now completely sold out its planned production run of 1500 machines.

Ducati always said the Desmosedici RR would be available in limited numbers, and originally expected to make just a couple of hundred. But the incredible response to the bike’s announcement prompted the firm to raise production to 1250 and then to 1500, but while the demand hasn’t gone away, the company says it won’t be upping production any further.

Just meeting the orders already in place will keep the firm’s dedicated Desmosedici production line tied up until the end of next year.

At the moment, Ducati says there is no plan to make a follow-up version, although in the past insiders have hinted that the change in MotoGP regulations to limit capacities to 800cc in 2007 might prompt a second, 800cc MotoGP replica in the future.
