Biker escapes speeding ban

A biker from Millom has persuaded a judge not to ban him after being caught for speeding, by claiming that slowing his Suzuki GSX-R1000 motorcycle would have caused a crash.

Stephen Sharp was caught doing 56mph in a 30 limit on his Suzuki GSX-R1000motorcycle, but presented the judge with images of the road covered in muck from a local farm, claiming would have been dangerous for a motorcycle to brake on. He was still fined £175 and given five points, but kept his licence.
