BMW mark half-millionth GS with special edition R1200

1 of 4

BMW has made an incredible 500,000 GS-badged motorcycles since the original R80G/S in 1980. To celebrate it’s launching a special edition of the R1200GS featuring a suite of tasty extras at a bargain price.

The mods include higher, smoked screen, two-tone seat, black wheels and aluminium cylinder head guards, which together make it look more storm-trooperish than ever.

Fans of the Long Way Down / Long Way Round continent-crusher will be even more moistened to know the British version’s due to be even more specced up than other territories’.

Rumours suggest in addition to the other mods it may also get Dynamic and Premium packs – bringing ABS, electronically-adjustable suspension, traction control, heated grips and onboard computer – for a chunky discount over the normal fully-loaded price.
