New colours for Triumph Street Triple, Street Triple R and Daytona

Triumph is leaving the Daytona 675 and Street Triple unchanged for 2009 with new colours to keep the MCN test winners looking fresh.

The Street Triple R keeps the same Daytona 675-sourced frame and suspension as the 2009 model, with just a new Phantom Black paint scheme (with gold-painted wheels) marking the 2010 bike out.

Both the matt orange and matt grey colour options from 2009 will also be available next year. A new instrument panel is fitted to all 675 models which doesn’t have any extra functions, but Triumph says it will be easier to use.

The standard Street Triple is now available in Tornado Red, replacing the 2009 green option. The Daytona’s rear wheel and sprocket carrier is now fitted too, saving 1kg of unsprung weight. It’s available in dealers now.

The Daytona 675 was refreshed for 2009 with 3bhp more power, 3kg less weight, new forks, new brakes and a slight restyle, so Triumph has left the technical side alone. A new Caspian Blue paint option (with gold-painted rims) will be offered alongside the black and red options.

Price for the Daytona and Street Triple R is yet to be announced, though it shouldn’t be far from the £7589 and £6649 2009 prices when they go on sale towards the end of 2009.
