This is CCM’s all-new, road legal, middleweight adventure bike – the GP 450 – set to go into production in May this year!

Although by the 450cc single cylinder Dakar-style racers it’s a fully road legal machine intended as an entry level adventure bike before riders move up to the likes of BMW’s R1200GS. Bolton-based CCM believes there’s a gap in the market for just this type of bike.

CCM Director, Austin Clews told MCN: “For three years now the Dakar Rally has been restricted to 450cc, this has paved the way for a new opening for a quality, very capable entry level product.”

Whilst CCM refused to divulge the source of the engine, MCN’s believes it is supplied by BMW. The single cylinder, four-stroke boasts 40bhp at 7000RPM with a 90mph top speed.

The machine weighs a reported 130kg dry, has a road biased seat configuration with a height of 895cm and a 17 litre tank.

For the more adventure orientated rider, CCM offer panniers, additional front spot light, a taller seat choice and optional sprockets.

CCM plan to introduce its own parts catalogue which will include Rally Raid bodywork, a larger fuel tanks Tractive Electronic suspension and other extras.

Speaking to MCN, Austin Clews said: “The GP 450 Adventure represents four years of hard work and investment. Everything we learnt from CCM Racing feedback has gone into the new bike.

“CCM are relying on the commercial success of this new model to provide a solid platform from which we can launch a whole new range of motorcycles.”

CCM plan to distribute the machines in both the UK and Europe and also provide buyers with a 12-month guarantee. The GP 450 is priced at £7995. Visit ccm-motorcycles.com for more information.
