MILAN SHOW: MV AGUSTA unveil Turismo Veloce 800

1 of 1

This is the new MV Agusta Turismo Veloce 800, which will be available in dealerships from the beginning of 2015.
Using the firm’s lightweight 800 three-cylinder engine wrapped in a steel trellis frame, the 110bhp motor benefits from a toque boost of 15% in the mid-range by comparison with its sister Rivale and Brutale models. The Turisom also gets the new MVICS 2.0 (Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System), which uses the new TC and the EAS 2.0 with blipper system, all managed through the new 5” colour TFT instrument cluster which means that the Turismo Veloce is docile when you want it to be, but still sporty when you ask it be.
Fuel consumption has been improved, MV claim, by up to 20%, with a choice of four engine maps (Touring and Rain with 90bhp maximum power, Sport with 110 and Custom, which can be personalised). Parameters that can be personalised are the engine torque, power distribution arc (two levels), the rev limiter mode (more or less abrupt), throttle sensitivity (three levels), engine brake (two levels) and engine response (two levels).
The traction control is adjustable for eight different levels, and can be disabled, giving the rider complete control, while the new EAS 2.0 quickshifter lets the rider up and downshift without using the clutch. The result? Extremely reduced shifting times, comfort and a lot more focus dedicated on riding.
There are two verisons of the new Turismo – a Veloce: for those who want light weight and sportiness above all without giving up any of the features, such as the full LED lights and the instrument cluster with large 5” TFT colour display and Bluetooth, and a Turismo Veloce Lusso: with electronically controlled suspension which acquires data on the dynamic performance of the inertial platform, which alters the hydraulic compression and rebound in real time. It comes with 30-litre panniers, and will cost around £15,000 (€18,990), while the Turismo Veloce 800 will tips the scales at a lighter £12,500 (€15,990).
