Since 1959, when the Triumph Bonneville launched, riders have been customising and making them their own. Over the decades Bonneville has spawned countless customs from landspeed record holders to the most contemporary of custom specials.

This ‘Spirit’ is one of three new classic special editions, and boasts a Spirit Blue / New England White paint scheme on the fuel tank and rear mudguard; white decorative stitching on the part-textured seat cover, and Jet Black paint for the side panels and front mudguard.

The latest Triumph script has been used on the fuel tank to maintain to the fresh contemporary feel, rather than using the retro chromed badge.

More de-chroming includes the handlebars, mirror housings, engine covers, wheel rims and hubs – which have all been blackened. Stubby silencers from the Bonneville, a compact black headlight from the Scrambler and a rear mudguard from the Thruxton complete the look.

Every year the small town of Neukirchen in the mountains of Austria plays host to the world’s biggest Triumph party, and this ‘Newchurch’ pays homage to the event.

The petrol tanks are hand painted with a new design that highlights their lines, and will be available in Cranberry Red / Pure White or Sapphire Blue / Pure White.

The mudguards, headlamp bowl, handlebars, mirrors and springs are all blacked-out, and the black seven spoke cast wheels featuring a hand painted pinstriped coachline.

As with all three specials, the Bonneville motor is unchanged throughout, being afuel-injected 865cc parallel-twin producing 67bhp and 50ftlb torque.

The Limited Edition Bonneville T214 celebrates the achievements of Texas-born racer Johnny Allen, and his record-breaking Triumph-powered Cee-Gar streamliner which, in 1956, set the first of many land speed records at the Bonneville Salt Flats by recording a two-way average of 214.4mph.

The new Bonneville T214 Limited Edition, based on the T100 Black, pays homage to that record. The hand painted Caspian Blue and Pure White colour scheme complete with red and white chequer detailing echoes that of the 1956 Texas Cee-Gar.

The blue front mudguard shares the same white star motif from the nosecone of the iconic streamliner, while rear mudguard is shortened, and the rims, handlebars, and rear springs all blacked out.

Limited to a total of 1000 bikes worldwide, each individually numbered, the T214 will be in Triumph dealerships from the end of October.
