Staff bikes: XR1200X - control freak

1 of 2

I’ve been riding the XR1200 for a few weeks now and even though I’m smitten with it there’s still room for improvement.

The first thing I’ve changed is the levers. The original Harley levers had a bizarre dog–leg shape that meant the backs were very close to my knuckles.

Every time I changed gear I had to nearly remove my hand from the bar to pull in the clutch, not conducive to a smooth gear change.

Oberon Performance produce UK made anodised parts and they have just launched adjustable levers for the XR. The CNC machined levers feature an eight-position radial cam adjuster providing a 30mm range of reach allowing the perfect lever position.

The quality of the machining and anodising is exceptional. The blades and adjusters are available in six colours and cost £69.99 each

The Oberon levers have completely solved the problem on the XR, were easy to fit and with the gold adjusters look the business. The levers are available for Harley’s Aprilia’s and Ducatis. www.oberon-performance.co.uk
