1 of 1

Shane Byrne topped the afternoon practice session at Brands Hatch today ahead of the weekend’s first MCE British Superbike round of the season.

The Rapid Solicitor Kawasaki rider was the only one to break the 46s barrier with a best lap of 45.95s.

He said: “We’re making progress but today, ultimately is a practice day and we shouldn’t get complacent. There’s still work to do.”

Josh Brookes was second quickest on the Tyco TAS Suzuki with a lap time of 46.11. Michael Laverty was third with a 46.12 on the Samsung Honda.

BSB champion Tommy Hill was fourth on the Swan Yamaha after overcoming fuelling issues that plagued his morning session.

This morning’s pace setter, Graeme Gowland, didn’t ride this afternoon. His crew were still working on rebuilding the Team WFR Honda he crashed on the final lap of the first session.
