Mason quits PR Kawasaki BSB team

Gary Mason has just issued the following statement announcing his decision to quit the Quattro Plant PR Racing Kawasaki BSB team:

“Following a desperately disappointing start to the 2012 BSB season Gary Mason has decided to part company with PR Racing Kawasaki.

“Continued technical failures leave Gary languishing in 19th position in the Championship with only 2 point scoring finishes and 6 DNF’s to his credit. 

“Lack of pre-season testing due to budgetary restrictions can be held mainly responsible for this sad situation and Gary’s disappointment has been further compounded when the team was unable to meet its contracted commitments to Gary in recent months.

“Gary has therefore taken the difficult decision to withdraw from the team with immediate effect.

“Gary would like to take this opportunity to thank all of his loyal sponsors, particularly John Murphy at Quattro Plant, for their on-going support.”
