BSS Snetterton: Gowland makes it two from two with Snett double

1 of 2

Graeme Gowland has made it two from two in the British Supersport championship, winning the feature race at Snetterton by over three seconds, after his main title rival Alastair Seeley made a mistake and crashed out on the warmup lap.

His Smiths Triumph teammate Billy McConnell was second, taking the spot after a race-long fight with Luke Jones, only for Jones to crash out in the final stages of the race, conceding the final podium place to Luke Mossey, who spent the race dicing with Luke Stapleford.

Taylor Mackenzie had his best result of the year on the Tyco Suzuki in fifth, with an injured Glenn Irwin, who broke his ankle in a charity football match last week, behind him in sixth.

Speaking afterwards, Gowland said: “It took ages to get that win then two came at once! The Smiths team have given me such a great package, but that was so much hard work; it took a lot of effort to keep the concentration levels up for the whole race.”
