Oulton improvments

Druids corner at Oulton Park has a new larger run-off area and gravel trap with the Armco barrier moved back by 72 feet.

New Rizla Suzuki signing Chris Walker last raced at Oulton seven years ago but is glad to see improvements as he returns to the BSB.

“Back then I was on a Suzuki going for the Championship against Neil Hodgson and things were pretty hot on track with neither of us giving an inch,” said Walker. “I expect the competition to be just as fierce in 2007 when I return, this time on a Rizla Suzuki going for the Championship.

“Druids is often the last opportunity to overtake before the chequered flag and the increase in run-off will hopefully help the riders who brake just a fraction too late and can’t get turned. Well done to MSV for investing in rider safety.”

The barrier move is one of a number of changes made to the circuit to improve things for spectators, riders and officials.

Walker added: “The changes mean spectators can expect a lot of fireworks at the final corner as riders push to their limits to overtake. It’s just going to add to the excitement.”
