Smith on form fast

Teen star Bradley Smith has started 2007 with a bang, going second fastest in the 125 GP class’ first major test of the year at Jerez in Spain.

The Repsol Honda rider turned 16 before Christmas after claiming the Rookie of the Year title in 2006.

Smith was a massive 1.5s clear of his new team-mate Esteve Rabat and Stefan Bradl at a rain-interrupted test.

Smith was less than 0.1s off the best time, set by GP winner Mike di Meglio. 

The Oxfordshire schoolboy has been training intensively in the off season.

He appears to have hit the ground running in his bid to improve on his sensational debut year in GPs.
