Sofuoglu fastest in first supersport practice

Current Supersport championship leader Kenan Sufuoglu was quickest in the first free practice session at Silverstone this morning.

The Hannspree Ten Kate rider recorded a best time of 1:28.480 which is already two and a half seconds better than his fastest lap at the Northamptonshire circuit last year.

Just over one 10th of a second behind Sofuoglu was Australian Broc Parkes with David Checa in third with a 1:28.586.

British rider Craig Jones was sixth fastest for a long period of the session but other teams chose to put new tyres on their riders resulting in faster times which pushed the Honda man down to 13th. His best time this morning was 1:29.490 and he completed more laps than any other rider.

Anthony West has kept his spot in the Yamaha World SSP Racing team with Kevin Curtain failing to recover from injury I time for this weekend. West managed a best time of 1:30.071 in 21st place.
