British Superbikes: Jentin Yamaha's Simon Andrews back for Brands Hatch

Simon Andrews returns to racing for the final British Superbike round of the season at Brands Hatch on the Jentin Racing/Lloyds British Yamaha R1.

Andrews broken his collarbone in the second race of the British Superbike Cadwell Park round but has since recovered and tested the Jentin Yamaha last week at Silverstone.

Simon Andrews said: “I am really pleased to be back in action after my mishap at Cadwell. My shoulder held up well at Silverstone and we posted some pretty fast lap times.

“Brands Hatch is one of my favourite circuits and I usually go well there.

“This time we are using the 1.1986-mile Indy circuit and with us lapping at under 50 seconds each time we should see some pretty close and exciting racing over 30 laps each time.”

Team boss Bernie Toleman added: “We completed a very useful test at Silverstone and Simon came through with flying colours.

“The collarbone held up ok and appears to be completely healed. Even the weather was kind to us and we were able to make considerable progress on Friday.

“Everything is looking very positive for the weekend and it will be nice to have Simon back in the saddle at Brands Hatch for the final showdown.

“We started the season at Brands Hatch and secured two very strong results of 11th and ninth back in April. A repeat performance would be a very acceptable end to our season and set us on the right track for 2008.”
