2009 British Superbike calendar announced

The 2009 British Superbike calendar has finally been announced, with the biggest change being the Brands Hatch GP round being held in the height of the summer.

Brands Hatch will not be hosting a World Superbike round in 2009 after MSV MD Jonathan Palmer refused to pay the increased prices to host a WSB round.

And as a direct response Palmer will hold the British Superbike round at the Kent Grand Prix circuit at the same time they would have held the WSB weekend.

Series Director Stuart Higgs said: “We believe that we have the most competitive domestic Superbike championship in the world with the calibre of riders and machines already entered.

“And the new look calendar adds spice, with variation and a range of circuits that fully test the capabilities of all competitors.”

Oulton Park will now host the final round of the championship.
