British Superbikes Almeria test: Michael Rutter talks Ducati 1098 and tyres

After setting a competitive second day lap time of 1:37.7 Michael Rutter says the team are still very much working with the traction control on the new Ducati 1098.

“We’re still learning away with the traction control,” said Rutter.

“I’ve not got it quite how I want it yet but we’ll have it sorted by the beginning of the season.”

Michael Rutter spent a good part of the second day riding with the different levels of traction control to differentiate between the settings.

Rutter said: “We did a 1:37.7 today running on a hard tyre so we’re competitive and we’ve still got a way to go yet.

“I’ve done 20 to 25 laps with the same rear and feel happy – you can feel the performance going off though.”
