Donington Park MotoGP: Casey Stoner hoping for more of the same

1 of 1

Casey Stoner got his chances of regaining the MotoGP crown back on track this weekend with a completely dominant performance on British soil.

Stoner said at the start of the weekend the team had found a solution with the engine management that prevent the bike to move around so much on acceleration.

The improvements were so good that the Aussie topped all but one session all weekend and looked like the Stoner of 2007.

After his runaway race win he said: “This has been a great weekend for us and it’s brilliant to know we’re in a position to fight that little bit harder.

“After a disappointing start to the season since the opening round at Qatar it’s nice to feel as though we’re back on track and this weekend went well from the start.

“Today the bike was perfect, even at the end of the race we had really good traction and I want to thank all my team – Filippo [Preziosi], Vito [Guareschi] and all the people at Ducati – for the hard work they are doing.

“Now we just hope this new electronic system will work as well at the rest of the tracks as it has done at Catalunya and Donington Park.”
