Bradley Smith has taken fifth place in the Mugello 125GP despite riding with a broken bone in his foot and an injured hand.

Smith got a good start taking fourth at the first corner but quickly had a bobble and dropped to 10th, but he fought back and worked his way through the pack to take the lead on the penultimate lap.

He couldn’t get clear enough to avoid the slipstream down the straight going in to the last lap and saw four riders  come past on the breaks to leave him in fifth.

Simone Corsi took his third win of the season, putting him joint first place in the championship with Mike DiMeglio. GaborTalmasci took second ahead of Pol Espagaro and Mike Di Meglio.

Brits Scott Reading and Danny Webb had a race-long fight for the last of the points, but Webb crashed out on the last lap leaving Reading to take 14th.
