Jerez MotoGP: Pedrosa Bursts Ahead for Repsol Honda

1 of 1

The 23-year-old Spaniard Dani Pedrosa continued his remarkable comeback to form by leading the second practice for the Spanish MotoGP on the sun-blessed Jerez circuit.

Pedrosa speared his Repsol Honda around the 2.75-mile track in 1m 39.422s, to lead Fiat Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo by just 0.54s. Marlboro Ducati’s Casey Stoner was third fastest.

And Valentino Rossi? Yesterday’s leader of the opening practice session was only seventh fastest on his Fiat Yamaha, 0.822s off Pedrosa’s pace.

Randy de Puniet brought his LCR Honda into fourth place, from Andrea Dovizioso (Repsol Honda) and Colin Edwards (Tech 3 Yamaha).

Britain’s James Toseland was only 15th quickest on his Tech 3 machine, and may face a difficult struggle to qualifying strongly in this afternoon’s only remaining session before the race.
