Valentino Rossi has splashed out on a new $1.15m (£7,130,000) yacht.

The Pershing 56 luxury yacht, named Titilla II, is 56 feet long, has six beds, can take up to 14 people and is powered by two engines that produce 13,000hp.

The boat will be docked at the tourist bay of Vallugola in Pesaro, Italy and will cost the Fiat Yamaha rider US$13, 200 (£8,185) a year to moor.

But in yacht terms this is far from flash. Chelsea Football club owner Roman Abramovich’s new boat is rumoured to be 170m long, have two helipads, a swimming pool and its own submarine.

While F1 team boss Flavio Briatore is said to have spent £62.8m on his superyacht Force Blue – which is in the top 100 in the world – and promptly had it completely refitted.

It was for hire at the 2009 F1 Monaco Grand Prix for $250,000 (£155,000) a week.
