Dani Pedrosa: ‘I can be world champion with Honda’

Dani Pedrosa insists he can still become MotoGP world champion at Honda.

The Spaniard recently signed a one-year extension to his factory HRC contract having been linked with a big-money switch to Ducati.

The 23-year-old has yet to come close to winning the premier class crown despite four years at HRC.

But he remains confident his title ambitions can be fulfilled at Honda, despite looking likely to finish behind Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo and Casey Stoner in 2010.

“It has been a good relationship with Honda for many years so I think one more opportunity for me and for them is good. Staying with Honda is because I think they are capable of improving.

“The future will tell us if that’s true, but if it is not possible to have such a great bike then in the future I will consider other options.

“But now I still believe in Honda,“ said Pedrosa, who claimed his first wet weather podium in MotoGP during last weekend’s Sepang race in Malaysia.
