Bancaja Aspar team rider Bradley Smith stood on the podium in front of his home crowd today when he placed third in the Silverstone 125 GP clash.

First went to Red Bull Ajo rider Marc Marquez after a brutal late battle with fellow Spaniard and Tuenti Racing rider Pol Espargaro.

After bashing fairings repeatedly with Marquez, Espargaro lost the front on the last lap but managed to keep the bike upright –  despite running off the track – and went on to finish in second place.

Fourth place went to Nicolas Terol riding for the Bancaja Aspar team, leaving Tomoyoshi Koyama to finish in fifth.

Andalucia Cajasol rider Danny Webb finished in 10th place.
